Student Bar Patio Heating

Background

An outdoor heating solution was being sought for a student bar patio area at Durham University.  The requirements were for a powerful and stylish heating solution that would make the area usable and appealing to students, in terms of warmth and also aesthetics . The university wanted to provide a warm outdoor space that enabled students to continue to meet socially, within the restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Solution

The team specified Herschel Miami heaters for the outdoor space at Durham University. The Miami Black heaters are a powerful 2kW, low glare outdoor heating solution and are available in both a black and white finish, with mirror reflectors . The Miami heaters can be wall or ceiling mounted, as well as mounted upon parasols. Mounting surfaces were limited within the extensive seating exterior at the university and so the Herschel team worked closely with the client to review possibilities that would work in the space.  The client opted for bespoke mounted mechanisms that they sourced following recommendations from the Herschel specification team.
